Another of Madrid’s cultural icons is the Casa Encendida, which is headed by the Obra Social Caja Madrid. It hosts everything from avant-garde artistic projects to classes and workshops focused on subjects such as the environment and solidarity. It also supports a variety of projects geared towards the development of young creative talent.

The current schedule includes offerings involving the performing arts, films, exhibitions, and other expressions of modern creativity. The Casa Encendida also houses a very complete resource centre which is available to the public, and which includes a library, media centre, newspaper archive, and even a studio for photography, radio and multimedia production.
