CaixaForum is the Madrid-based social and cultural centre owned by ""La Caixa"" foundation which boasts a prime location along the Art Walk. The centre is inspired by the city's spirit of integration and embodies its cosmopolitan essence. It is intended as a platform for dissemination and consistent dialogue about the concerns and needs of our era and is at the service of all Madrid's citizens.

CaixaForum is housed in a renovated building: a former electric power station and a symbol of modernist architecture. Preserving the original façade, architects Herzog and De Meuron created a striking and spectacular space integrating tradition and modernity.

The building and its impressive vertical garden, designed by Patrick Blanc, frame a brand new public square. Art exhibitions, guided visits, music, poetry, film, multimedia art, debates on current affairs, social events, educational and family workshops are just some of the activities held at CaixaForum and open to everyone.
